About Anytime Showers

How it All Started...

A few years ago Dan and I (my name's Amy) were working for a RAGRBRAI Charter. This was no normal charter though – it just so happened to be the largest charter on RAGBRAI with somewhere around 700 campers. It was a week of long hot days, not only for us workers but the bikers as well, so when it came time to get a shower we were more than thankful!

Sadly, we then waited in line (sometimes for an hour or more) to pay $5 for a shower. Once in the shower, it was apparent the stall hadn't been cleaned in a while. There was no private dressing area, which bothered me as I hate to look at myself naked, let alone let have someone else see me. The showers were locker-room style, without much privacy. There was no good place to put my personal items. At the time, however, that was the best shower and five dollars I had spent in a long time.

On the last evening the charter owners had a sit-down round table discussion with all the employees to go over the goods and bads of the event.  Showers seemed to be one of the issues most people had.  After returning home and having several discussions and doing much research, we found there simply are not many full-service mobile shower units out there. Dan and I thought we could do it better. So a few years later, here we are – selling reasonable, clean, hot, individual showers at events throughout the summer.
